FAKE NEWS AND FALSE EXPLANATIONS
There can be little doubt that many friends, family members, and neighbors who are still here—and especially media talking heads and social influencers—will suggest that what just transpired was not the rapture of the Church. Indeed, the "rapture" explanation will likely be mocked as too simplistic and primitive.
We tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who have died. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever. So encourage each other with these words. Now concerning how and when all this will happen, dear brothers and sisters, we don’t really need to write you. For you know quite well that the day of the Lord’s return will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night. When people are saying, “Everything is peaceful and secure,” then disaster will fall on them as suddenly as a pregnant woman’s labor pains begin. And there will be no escape. But you aren’t in the dark about these things, dear brothers and sisters, and you won’t be surprised when the day of the Lord comes like a thief. (1 Thessalonians 4:15–5:4, NLT)
What I am saying, dear brothers and sisters, is that our physical bodies cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. These dying bodies cannot inherit what will last forever. But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed! It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed. For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies. (1 Corinthians 15:50–53, NLT)
Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. (The words of Jesus as recorded in John 14:1–3, NLT)
Go home, my people, and lock your doors!Hide yourselves for a little whileuntil the Lord’s anger has passed.Look! The Lord is coming from heavento punish the people of the earth for their sins.(Isaiah 26:20–21, NLT)
Then as I looked, I saw a door standing open in heaven [promised to the Church in Revelation 3:8–10], and the same voice I had heard before spoke to me like a trumpet blast. The voice said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must happen after this.” And instantly I was in the Spirit, and I saw a throne in heaven and someone sitting on it. The one sitting on the throne [God] was as brilliant as gemstones—like jasper and carnelian. And the glow of an emerald circled his throne like a rainbow. Twenty-four thrones surrounded him, and twenty-four elders sat on them [Leaders of the Church and representative of the Church now dwelling in Heaven]. They were all clothed in white [representing Christ's goodness/righteousness given to them as a gift] and had gold crowns on their heads [representing their victory over the world through faith in Jesus]. (Revelation 4:1–4, NLT)
